Felt Making Workshop.

Monday 30th September, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm.

Felt Making Workshop.

As it’s generally thought to be the oldest textile, felt, naturally, has a very long history. It has been used in many cultures for multiple purposes from clothing to tents. The Digby family that resided here in the 1620s would have felt clothing and hats.

Join us in the beautiful setting of our barn, learn more about the history and practices & create your own piece of felt using Merino wool fibre.  You’ll learn how to compress and matt fibres until they connect to form a sturdy fabric and you can decorate in your own style.  There is also the option to make your piece into an all natural exfoliating soap.

All materials included. Soap will be provided but feel free to bring your own, particularly if you have sensitive skin or allergies.

Tickets are £20 and must be booked in advance on 01455 290429
