The English Highwayman: A talk by Lee Timmins
A whistle stop history of the English Highwayman from their appearance in the 1550’s through to 1839, looking at the way the profession changed through time and various well known characters including Richard Turpin, female Highwaymen and the way in which they were regarded by society

Lutenists and the Stage around 1600 Talk
Sunday 31st October, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Nick Gravestock, our resident lutenist will give an illuminating talk with musical examples about the involvement of prominent lutenist composers with the stage in the Elizabethan and Jacobean period.
The Elixirs of Life: Medieval Spirits and Botanicals Talk with Tasting
Friday 3rd December, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join Locksley Distilling Co. Ltd. on a tasting tour around the spirits and remedies of medieval Europe, made from and inspired by ingredients grown in the 1620s House and Garden. Finish off the night with delicious craft spirit samples made by Locksley Distilling and an opportunity to stock up on drinks for Christmas!
