Events Volunteer

The 1620s House & Garden is has a varied programme of events from talks to bear hunts! The team are looking for a dedicated team of volunteers to help facilitate their growing events programme. Volunteers will:

  • Help market and promote events
  • Act as a Meet and Greeter for Events
  • Supervise key locations at events
  • Support the delivery of family and child friendly craft activities, games and other activities such as storytelling, music and dance (training provided)
  • Facilitate feedback questionnaires
  • Gain first-hand experience of volunteering in a heritage site and working in a period property
  • Gain knowledge and a set of engagement, facilitation and communication skills
  • Develop a knowledge of different events
  • Be part of the wider heritage team across Leicestershire County Council
  • Training will be provided in content, the historical background of the house and public engagement techniques
